Pros
Choice of subject
Interior OK
Cons
Terrible fit. There is a gap on one side under the fuselage where it meets the wing trailing edge. Panel ligns not aligned.
Canopy is wrong in shape and framing. I used vacform.
Overall the new Fine Molds kit is probably much better, if you can afford it.
The Academy Me109G's are nicely detailed but seem to fall short in accuracy (as often for Academy).
Pros
Nice level of detail
Good interior
Separate exhausts with fine shrouds
Cons
Slightly undersize in both length and wingspan
Nose is skinny (when compared to other G/K kits and drawings)
elevators are wrong shape
air intake seems to small
2 gazilion stencil decals (just a personal opinion)
Undersize wheels or oversize wells
Same kit as above with the added flaw of a taller rudder that is too short. I built mine up with card and putty. About 2 mm are missing. I used the Revell G10 as a reference.
The Revell G10 was a welcome release, being the first late model G in 1/72.
Pros
Choice of subject
Nice decals
Cons
Undersize propeller
Wrong shape for spinner
Solid air intake (need to drill out)
Cockpit armored glass and backrest is missing/wrong (use G14 as reference)
Undecipherable color codes (a Revell specialty, in this case studying the mixtures I could not figure out if the results would be green, brown or gray)
This is a beautiful kit. There is not much to comment on as the kit pretty nuch falls together.
Pros
Beautiful fit and detail
Cons
Canopy is not completely flush with fuselage (maybe a personal mistake but I have seen pics with the same problem)
Only one large shell ejector hole instead of 2 (appropriate for a D13) on the bottom of the fuselage
fuselage band decal a bane to fit
