Kit Preview : 1/76 Cromwell Combat Ready Merceded L3000A with office body
About the manufacturer
Cromwell now focuses on 1/76 and 1/72 Combat ready models which combine a reduced count of parts and a good level of detail. Older kit type models are still available, mostly on Ebay. I find Cromwell castings to be among the best on the market.
About the vehicle
The Mercedes L3000 was a 3ton German truck. The A all wheel drive version was only built from 1940 and 1942. About 28,000 were built (all versions), which is low compared to the 82,000 Opel Blitz produced.

About the kit
This is a one piece wargaming model with a solid cab. The sculpting is very good and it looks accurate, though I have not verified size accuracy.
I wanted to test a way to hollow the cab from below to make this a "real" model by inserting an interior.
Here is the truck after 30 minutes of work using a dremel motor tool. I started by using a 1mm drill bit to put holes through the windows and from the bottom and carved more material out using an inverted drop shaped cutter bit.
