Kit Preview : 1/76 Cromwell Combat Ready Valentine MkI

About the manufacturer
Cromwell now focuses on 1/76 and 1/72 Combat ready models which combine a reduced count of parts and a good level of detail. Older kit type models are still available, mostly on Ebay. I find Cromwell castings to be among the best on the market.

About the vehicle
This is the earliest version of the Valentine. It differs from the more widespread (at least in mdoeling circles) Mk II by lacking a pistol port on the left side of the turret and a different hull stowage configuration.

About the kit

The hull has severe issues. Compared to the Fujimi Valentine (and the identically sized MMS and Milicast models ), the rear deck is much too short. On the other hand Cromwell got the turret right. Fujimi and Milicast have a tiny turret. The MMS turret is slightly undersize. One relatively minor issue with the turret is the lack of bolts behind the gun mantlet and lining the bottom side.
Here is the review of the Milicast model.
